Zonta and the Mangawhai Lions Club are once again asking locals to bling their bras as they prepare to host their annual Pink Ribbon high tea fundraiser.
The event will take place at the Mangawhai Library Hall on May 23 to raise much-needed funds for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.
“There will be lots of raffles, and we are going to do our ‘Bling Your Bra’ again, so everyone can get creative,” Mangawhai Lions Club marketing coordinator Mandy Hebben says.
Last year, the event raised $6,000, with all money raised going towards breast cancer research, education and support for those living with the disease.
“It’s one of those things that affects so many people. Everybody knows somebody who has won the fight or someone who has lost the fight; we’ve all got those stories, so this is a great event for people to support,” Hebben says.
